LINCNET - LiFi-enabled 5G for INdustrial and MediCal NETworks

The LINCNET project aims to further develop wireless communication with light (LiFi) so that it complements 5G communication in medical and industrial applications. One of the goals is to increase the market maturity of LiFi technology and prepare it for commercialization. Therefore, Fraunhofer HHI is investigating the combination of powerline communication (PLC) with LiFi and developing solutions to implement it. By using the existing infrastructure of power lines, the installation of LiFi can be simplified and thus a cost-effective retrofit into existing buildings can be realized.
