Co-funded by Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy (BMWi) (Funding number: 01ME18003F)
Duration: January 2019 - June 2022
The aim of the project is to develop the future requirements of autonomous driving to data communication in the vehicle by means of a novel communication system. Through the use of different camera systems and other sensors, it can be expected that the required data rates will continue to increase. In addition, the new types of driving systems place increased demands on the latency of data communication. The established bus systems have reached their limits. For this reason, an OFDM-based transmission system promises significant improvements for both parameters. In addition, OFDM technology enables improved reliability, because the technology can react flexibly to changes in the transmission channel and adapts itself accordingly. In the project a corresponding demonstration system consisting of several nodes is planned for the final demonstration in 2021.
