The “Sustainable and Modular Networks” (SMN) research group focuses on advancing next-generation communication technologies through a modular approach that integrates a wide range of disciplines. Our key areas of research include Open Radio Access Networks (ORAN), integrated communication and sensing, intelligent reflecting surfaces, channel charting, and digital twins. By bridging multiple fields, we aim to develop innovative, flexible, and sustainable network solutions that are essential for future digital ecosystems. Our work is driven by the goal of designing efficient, adaptable, and environmentally conscious networks for the connected world of tomorrow.
