SEKOM - Sichere Echtzeitkommunikation für Industrie und Handel
>(Secure Real-Time Communication for Industry and Trade)
Co-funded by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research - BMBF
Duration: January 2017 – June 2020
The aim of the SEKOM research project is to develop functions and processes for local wireless based communication in industry and the smart retail sector, taking mobile end devices into account. The research project should make an important contribution to the fourth industrial revolution "Industry 4.0", whose center is the so-called industrial internet. Flexible and scalable solutions should be developed which meet the high demands of heterogenous industrial communication networks and applications. To ensure the successful industrial application of the developed solutions, parameters of latency periods, reliability, data protection and functional security are paramount.
The Fraunhofer Heinrich Hertz Institute will provide its expertise in wireless communications to the project and develop best solutions and functions for the PHY and MAC level.
