Biography
Soonbin Lee has been a Research Associate in the Multimedia Communications Group at Fraunhofer Heinrich-Hertz Institute in Berlin, Germany since February 2023. His research interests include neural representations for immersive content, efficient compression and transmission technologies for 6DoF volumetric video streaming systems, and supporting standardization activities for immersive streaming.
He received his B.S. degree from Gachon University in February 2020 and his M.S. degree from Sungkyunkwan University (SKKU), South Korea in February 2022. In July 2022, he joined the Multimedia Communications Group at Fraunhofer HHI as a guest researcher. He actively participated in the standardization of ISO/IEC 23090-12 MPEG immersive video for data compression in immersive media.
