Biography
Sergio Tejeda Pastor received his M. Sc. degree in Telecommunications Engineering from the Universidad Carlos III de Madrid, Spain, in October 2012. He carried out his master thesis on accesible communications controlled by sensors.
For 10 years, he has developed his professional career as a software engineer, having the chance to participate in large-scale projects in a variety of industry sectors, such as finance, market research and information technologies. During this time, he has gained experience, first as backend, then as full-stack developer.
After joining the Multimedia Communications group of Fraunhofer HHI in 2021, his main research interest is the interactive streaming of volumetric video. In the context of this topic, he is and active participant in different German and European research projects, such as VoluProf and SPIRIT.

We explore ways to efficiently stream volumetric videos over 5G networks. Our work focuses on development of a volumetric video streaming system that offloads the rendering to a powerful cloud/edge server and only sends the rendered 2D view to the client instead of the full volumetric content.
