Biography
Álvaro López received his B.Sc. in Telecommunications Systems Engineering from Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya (UPC), and his M.Sc. in Wireless Communications Systems from Universitat Pompeu Fabra (UPF) in 2015 and 2017, respectively. He holds a Ph.D. in Information and Communication technologies since 2022, also from UPF, where he worked in the Wireless Networking Research Group (WNG).
Since 2023, he has been a Research Associate at the Fraunhofer Heinrich Hertz Institute (HHI), where he joined the Multimedia Communications Group. Currently, he is participating into the 3GPP RAN2 5G standardization activities, and his current research interests lie on developing autonomous learning techniques for next-generation mobile communications.
