Digital Tools and Workflow Integration for Building Lifecycles
Co-funded by the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy (BMWi)
Duration: March 2018 – February 2021
The digitalTwin project develops a common digital platform for all partners involved in the life cycle of a building, uses new wireless technologies (5G) for fast, low-latency and flexible networking, defines standardized interfaces and protocols and uses state-of-the-art visualization and interaction technologies. The aim is to improve the interfaces between planning, production, assembly, operation and dismantling using IT-supported tools or to create them in the first place.
The department "Wireless Communication and Networks" develops methods and tools for technical support during production and assembly on the paperless construction site. The main focus is on 5G wireless technology. Techniques of the fifth mobile generation are to be used in the project on the one hand for broadband data transmission and on the other hand to support the localization of eyeglass-based AR systems.
