Co-funded by: Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy (BMWi) and IT2Green
Duration: April 2011 - October 2014
Flexible and dynamic resource allocation in hierarchic mobile networks is investigated within the project. The scenario contains cell types like pico, femto, macro cells and relays as well as energy autarkic network elements. The key aspects of the project research are:
- Dynamic resource management between the cells and network elements
- Flexible, dynamic and highly efficient transmitters for base stations
- Innovative solutions for self-optimization of the base station transmitter
- Energy profiler within a cellular phone for analysis of interactions between network and cellular phones with respect to energy efficiency and spectral efficiency for the investigated scenarios.
The results of IntelliSpektrum shall lead to a service optimized, energy efficient and high-capacitive mobile communication network by developing innovative hardware concepts and algorithms. Thus, mobile phone providers will be able to cope with the future demands for a higher number of users and increased data transfer rates.
