Ingo Feldmann

Ingo Feldmann is Head of Immersive Media & Communication group at Vision & Imaging Technologies department.

His current research interests cover the topics of 3D acquisition, analysis, representation, and semantic understanding of real-world environments, objects, and persons. He is working in the field of future Virtual, Augmented and Mixed Reality applications and Volumetric Video for media, education, industry, and construction.

Biography

Ingo Feldmann, is head of Immersive Media & Communication group at Vision & Imaging Technologies department. He received his Dipl.-Ing. degree in Electrical Engineering from the Technical University of Berlin in 2000 respectively. Since September 2000, he is with Fraunhofer HHI, where he was engaged in various national, European and international research activities and projects. His current research interests cover the topics of 3D acquisition, analysis, representation, and semantic understanding of real-world environments, objects, and persons. He is working in the field of future Virtual, Augmented and Mixed Reality applications and Volumetric Video for media, industry, and construction. For his scientific work, Ingo Feldmann received several awards, such as the Joseph-von-Fraunhofer Prize entitled by "Realistic people in virtual worlds - A movie as a true experience", which he received together with his colleagues O. Schreer and P. Kauff in May 2019. He published more than 70 conference and journal papers, book chapters and patents and continuously acts as reviewer for various conferences.
