Researchers and developers from 20 Fraunhofer Institutes have combined their competence in the Fraunhofer Battery Alliance. The Fraunhofer Heinrich Hertz Institute HHI has joined the Battery Alliance in June as the 20th member. Prof. Dr. Wolfgang Schade and Jan Meyer will represent Fraunhofer HHI in the alliance.
The Fraunhofer Battery Alliance is the portal to the research and services offered by the Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft in the field of electrochemical energy storage systems (batteries, supercapacitors). With the expertise of its 20 member institutes, Battery Alliance aims to develop suitable technical and conceptual solutions with particular consideration of social, economic and ecological consequences and transfer them into applications. The aim is to develop research in the field of electrochemical energy storage into a central business area and to expand in the future. The competencies of the Fraunhofer Battery Alliance include subjects such as materials, systems, simulation, testing and cell production.
