The „Proxemic Bedside Monitor“ developed at Fraunhofer Heinrich Hertz Institute HHI is among the top 5 in this year’s INDUSTRY top list. The product was honored with the rating “BEST OF” and awarded the 2018 Industry Prize.
The „Proxemic Bedside Monitor“, a contactless control unit for user-adaptive image data visualization, enables contactless human-technology interaction in the patient room..
The monitor has three unique features: the bundling and display of all patient information in one place, intelligent data evaluation and contactless and therefore sterile interaction. The system records the situation in the patient’s room, analyses medical data, automatically adjusts the displays on the monitor and responds to gestures and voice commands from users. This enables doctors and nurses to access patients’ (vital) data in an ergonomic, efficient, hygienic and context-specific manner.
The system was developed by Fraunhofer HHI in close cooperation with the UK Aachen in a BMWi-funded project and implements new aspects of digitalization in medicine.
Huber Verlag für Neue Medien GmbH awards the Industry Prize for particularly advanced industrial products with high economic, social, technological and ecological benefits.
